What is googletagmanager.com?
googletagmanager.com hosts Google Tag Manager, a tool sites use to add other tracking code (“tags”) without changing their own code, and the loader for Google Analytics 4 (gtag.js).
AnalyticsOwned by Google (Alphabet), based in Mountain View.
What it does on a page
On its own it’s a container. What matters is what the site puts in it: often Google Analytics, Google Ads conversion tracking, and pixels from Meta, TikTok, Microsoft and others.
Should you block it?
Blocking it usually stops a whole bundle of trackers at once. On a few sites it can break forms or buttons that rely on it.
