Privacy policy
The short version: the Browser Monster extension keeps everything on your device. We don’t receive your browsing data, so we can’t sell it, share it or lose it.

Who we are
Browser Monster is made by EcomDesign, based in the United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). We are the data controller for the limited personal data described in this policy. Contact us at hello@browsermonster.com.
The extension
What it processes, and where
To show you who’s watching, the extension observes the network requests web pages make, reads the cookies sites store, listens for cookie-banner consent signals, and notices fingerprinting scripts. It matches what it sees against a company list bundled inside the extension and looks up server locations in offline tables, also bundled in.
All of this happens in your browser. Results are stored locally using Chrome’s extension storage and IndexedDB. The extension makes no server calls containing your browsing data, includes no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, and has no account system. We never see what you browse.
Permissions
- Requests, tabs and site access: to see which trackers load on each page. Observe only.
- Cookies: to list cookies by company and let you delete them. Cookie values are never kept in the inventory.
- Storage: to keep your results on your device.
- Alarms: for local housekeeping, such as deleting old records.
- Optional, only when you ask: history (to build your profile from past visits), installed extensions (for the extension audit), Chrome privacy settings (for the privacy checkup), notifications (for alerts and the weekly digest), and browsing-data access (for clean-up tools). Each is requested at the moment you use the feature, and you can revoke it at any time in Chrome.
Sensitive categories
Interest categories that could reveal health, financial difficulty, sexuality, religion or politics are hidden by default and are never included on shareable report cards unless you turn them on.
Deleting your data
Use “Delete history” in the dashboard, or uninstall the extension, and the locally stored data is gone. Because we never had a copy, there is nothing for us to delete.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
Browser Monster’s use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell user data, transfer it to third parties, use it for advertising or creditworthiness, or allow humans to read it.
This website
browsermonster.com sets no cookies and runs no analytics, ad pixels or third-party scripts. Fonts are served from our own domain.
Our hosting provider processes standard technical data (such as IP addresses) in server logs to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We don’t use these logs to profile anyone.
The waitlist
If you join the waitlist, we store your email address, which list you joined (launch or Pro), which form you used and when. We use it only to email you about the launch of Browser Monster or Browser Monster Pro. We rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by replying to any email or writing to hello@browsermonster.com. The list is stored with our database provider, Neon. We delete the list 12 months after launch.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, object to its use, or withdraw consent. Email hello@browsermonster.com. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Browser Monster isn’t aimed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their email addresses.
Changes
If we launch paid features such as Pro, we’ll update this policy before they go live and explain any new data they need. The date at the top shows the latest version.
